Arkansas Members Visit the State Capitol

Date: February 26, 2014

NFIB/Arkansas State Director Sylvester Smith recently served as guide for NFIB members visiting the State Capitol in Little Rock.

The members heard from key legislative leaders such as state Rep. Charlie Collins, chairman of the House Revenue and Tax Committee, and Sen. Larry Teaque, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee. Topics included the state budget process and the Arkansas Private Option for Medicaid.

Members also met with leaders of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration to learn about Arkansas tax policy and tax collection and sat down with one of the state’s chief economist to learn how state revenue is forecast and the important relationship between state income and the state budget.

If you’re interested in visiting the State Capitol and speaking out about the issues that affect your small business, contact Smith at [email protected]
