A Big Small-Business Salute to 70-Year Member

Date: October 03, 2014

Just a year after NFIB’s founding in 1943, Kuker-Ranken joined. Although it’s passed through numerous owners since, one thing stayed constant for 70 years: Membership in NFIB.
“It’s firms like KR, as it’s now called, that really highlight the value of membership in NFIB,” said Patrick Connor, NFIB/Washington state director. “Each one of its owners for almost half a century knew the importance of being part of an association that was dedicated to just small businesses. That they’ve been a member for so long tells me we’re succeeding in our mission to be the true voice of Main Street. I salute Bob Lycke for his continued success in keeping the doors of KR open and providing paychecks and livelihoods for his employees.

“He is also a very active member of our Leadership Council and chairman of our political action arm, SAFE Trust. He recently brought some of his customers together to meet with me to discuss NFIB, our legislative objectives, and how we are helping small business in our state.”

According to its website, “Since 1928 Kuker-Ranken has served the Surveyor, Engineer, Architect, and General Contractor … needs of professionals in the greater Seattle and Portland areas. From land surveyor supplies to topographic survey equipment we proudly serve from Bellevue, Redmond to Kirkland, Bothell, and Issaquah to Tacoma.”

In 2011, NFIB honored Lycke and his Mount Lake Terrace-based Kuker-Ranken with its first ever Legacy Award for being the oldest NFIB-member in the state.  Thank you, again, Bob for staying the course with us and your fellow small-business owners all over Washington state.
