Dawn Starns, state director of
the National Federation of Independent Business, said today that five members
of the Louisiana legislature had earned a 100 percent NFIB Voting Record in the
2014-15 legislative sessions.
They are Sen. Neil Riser (32nd District) and Reps. Stuart
Bishop (43rd District), Paul Hollis (104th District), Barry Ivey (65th
District) and Julie Stokes (79th District). The lawmakers stood with
Louisiana’s small, family businesses on issues such as tax relief and Medicaid
expansion.
Another 53 members of the legislature voted with small
business at least 70 percent of the time.
“These legislators understand what small business means
to Louisiana,” Starns said. “Our small-business members and their employees
appreciate the tremendous support they have received from these
legislators.”
The NFIB/Louisiana Voting Record for 2014-15 includes 13 key
votes on issues ranging from tax credits to lawsuit reform. Some bills came up
for a vote in only one chamber of the Legislature.
