2015 Oregon Member Ballot Results

Every year the National Federation of Independent Business, America’s largest and leading small-business association, polls its members on state and national issues vital to their ability to own, operate and grow their enterprises. Results from the poll center NFIB’s lobbying positions in Washington, D.C. and in Salem. NFIB has 350,000 dues-paying members nationwide, including more nearly 7,500 in Oregon. Results from the NFIB-member ballots are released after a statistically valid sample is reached. The 2015 ballot asked four questions:
 
Should Oregon replace the current tax on motor fuel with a vehicle miles traveled (VMT) tax to fund future highway and road construction and maintenance?
Yes 7 percent
No 83 percent
Und. 10 percent
Should Oregon file an application with the U.S. Congress to convene a convention of the states for the purpose of proposing a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
Yes 66 percent
No 17 percent
Und. 17 percent
Should business and occupational licensing be done only at the state level?
Yes 70 percent
No 17 percent
Und. 13 percent
Should the Legislature enact revenue-neutral tax reform to lower income-tax rates for businesses and individuals, while at the same time eliminating many deductions and exemptions?
Yes 43 percent
