2014 NFIB/South Dakota Legislative Issues

Author: Tony Malandra Date: May 20, 2013

Minimum Wage
Resist efforts to raise the minimum wage, and -- more particularly -- to tie any increases to the Consumer Price Index to allow automatic wage increases annually.

Immigration
Continue to actively engage in the discussions involving any immigration reform at the state level to ensure it does not unduly penalize small businesses.

Workers' Compensation
Resist any efforts to expand the opportunity for employees who are injured on the job to notify their employers of that injury as urged by the plaintiff’s bar.
